Leatherettes
These images are made by removing the leather covering the camera body. The leatherettes are glued in place and must be carefully pulled from the camera using a solvent to release the adhesive. After being dried and flattened they are placed face up on a flatbed scanner which creates an image of the side with the glue. Impressions in the surface are made from contact with fasteners and the seams in the camera body. The holes in the leather were made to accommodate the self timer control and other functions.
